200+ Wells Completed: QOILTECH Near-Bit Tech Leads China's CBM in 2023
Release time:2024/02/07
In 2023, QOILTECH's near-bit logging-while-drilling (LWD) instruments were deployed in shale gas, conventional coalbed methane (CBM), and deep CBM projects, completing services for more than 200 wells.

About QOILTECH

QOILTECH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIQTEK and a core business unit in its energy strategy. Leveraging magnetic resonance precision measurement as a core technology, QOILTECH focuses on unconventional resource development, including shale oil & gas, deep CBM, and gas hydrates.

The company independently developed the FELiD product series (Formation Evaluation and Logging integrated Devices), which integrates LWD and wireline logging tools into industrialized applications. The flagship CatLiD series near-bit instruments have become representative products in this portfolio.

By December 2023, QOILTECH's near-bit LWD instruments had completed operations in 52 conventional CBM wells, with total footage exceeding 85,000 meters. During these operations, QOILTECH tools proved stable and reliable, achieving the highest drilling efficiency record in a PetroChina block with a cycle of only 8.5 days. The team efficiently completed multiple wells in the Yamei block targeting the No.15 thin coal seam with a thickness of 0.3 to 0.5 meters, all of which received high recognition from the client.

Delivering services across more than 200 wells demonstrates that QOILTECH's near-bit LWD systems have passed rigorous market tests, proving their adaptability to complex geological conditions, efficiency in operations, and reliability in performance.

Looking ahead, QOILTECH will continue to focus on advancing exploration and drilling technologies in the energy sector. The company is committed to building a high-end precision measurement instrument platform that integrates R&D, manufacturing, and service, contributing to global energy development and greater industry efficiency.
